Recycled Filipiniana Gown

Yes! For the second year in a row, Sudlon 2 won in the Recycled Filipiniana Gown Making Contest! Over 60 barangays joined and Barangay Sudlon 2 got the first place in the two (2) major awards – Best in Recycled Filipiniana Gown and Best Designer.

The said contest was part of the Summer Camp 2011 held on May 9-13, 2011 at the Carmen Central School, Municipality of Carmen, Cebu City. This year's theme is "Be taught. Be challenged. Be inspired."

The Filipiniana Gown was made out of recyclable materials, designed by the very talented and creative Jerald Sarte.

The upper part of the gown was made of crumpled newspapers.

While the lower part was made of crumpled plastics.

Recycled Filipiniana Gown - Lower Part

Flowers added to the gown were made of newspapers, as well as the necklace, bracelet  and earrings.
